Easton Tops #2 Parkland

Easton field goal kicker Ian Heck was 0-for-3 on the season when he was called on at the end of the Red Rovers playoff game against undefeated Parkland.

At stake? A berth in next week's District 2-4-11 championship game.

Heck, was cool, calm and collected as he banged home a 36-yards field goal with two seconds left in the game to give Easton a 17-15 win on the Trojans' home turf.

What's more incredible is what will happen to Easton over the next seven days when it will play three games including last night's, Thursday's against hated, and unbeaten rival Phillipsburg and then turn around Saturday and play the winner of today's game between Liberty and Abington Heights in the state tournament. Liberty is the only team to have beaten Easton this year.

Parkland and Easton Collide

It's the match-up everyone has been looking forward to in Eastern Pennsylvania high school football circles....Easton vs. Parkland. It happens Friday night when the two collide in the District 2-4-11 semifinals.

For most of the season, It looked like the clash would be between two unbeatens. That is until Liberty surprised Easton a month ago. So Parkland comes in 11-0 and ranked #2 in the state's AAAA rankings. Easton is 10-1 and #5 in the state rankings.

The numbers are incredible. Parkland has outscored opponents to 405-58 with six shutouts. Easton has also allowed only 58 points, but has eight shutouts. The Red Rovers have outscored opponents 370-58.

Wilson Continues To Rule Colonial League Foes...Even In The Post-Season

The 10-game Colonial League schedule doesn't allow for any non-league games...so it's not until the post-season that teams can show others how tough they are.

Defending 2A state runner-up Wilson won its first Colonial League title since 1989 this season, and began the post-season with a familiar foe, Palmerton from the Colonial League, a team the Warriors struggled with during the regular season. The Warriors beat the Blue Bombers 22-21 in a come from behind fashion in October.

Saturday Wilson took its first step to returning to Hershey by beating Palmerton 28-14 to improve its record to 11-0 against the Colonial League this year. Next stop the District 1-11 semifinals against....yes another Colonial League foe, Pen Argyl a team it beat 21-0 several weeks ago.

To read about the Warriors win over Palmerton, please click on our headline "Wilson Continues To Rule Colonial League...Even In The Post-Season".

Top Ranked Bethlehem Catholic Can't Catch Tiger By The Talil

No one gave the Colonial League's Northwestern Lehigh (9-2) Tigers a chance against top-seeded Bethlehem Catholic (8-3) in the opening round of the District XI AAA playoffs. No one except the Tiger players and fans. The result of believing in themselves is Northwestern will play Pottsville next week for the District XI title after beating Beca 35-33 on Saturday night.

The win came in spite of the fact that Beca outgained the Tigers 472-yards to 282 in total offense.

Extra Point Does In Top Ranked Council Rock North

There's a reason they say that the playoffs are the start of a new season...just ask District One #1 AAAA seed Council Rock North!

After a perfect 10-0 regular season CR-North was looking forward to a deep run into the post-season. Abington finished the regular season with a regular 6-4 record. However, when the playoffs continue next week, the 16th seeded Abington Ghosts will be playing, while CR-North has vanished like a ghost.

Abington beat the Indians 21-20 after the Indians missed an extra point kick with 39.5 seconds left.
