Clairton's Tom Nola officially announced as Gateway's new head coach

It's official - Tom Nola has left Clairton for Gateway.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Nola was officially announced as the Gators' new head coach Wednesday night.  

In 12 years as Clairton's coach, Nola led the team to four straight Class A state titles while amassing a 66-game win streak.  He leaves the Bears with an overall mark of 141-22.  Counting his five years at Serra, his overall mark is 156-54.

Northampton hires Mark Scisly as its new head football coach

Mark Scisly, who has turned around high school football programs at Salisbury and Boyertown, is the new head football coach at Northampton.

According to the Express-Times, Scisly, who is a Southern Columbia grad, has always wanted to work in the Lehigh Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference.  He takes over for Jeff Brosky, who was not rehired after a 2-21 record in his two years at the helm.

Melosky steps-down at Nazareth

Corky Blake of the Express-Times reports that Nazareth head football coach Rob Melosky has resigned.   Melosky, who took-over the program six years ago, led the Blue Eagles to a 42-29 mark.  Nazareth's best season under Melosky came in 2011 when the team went 12-2, winning the District XI championship.  Counting stops at Freedom and Parkland, Melosky's lifetime record is 82-38, including a state AAAA at Parkland in 2002.  Last season, the Blue Eagles finished 6-6.
