Pennsylvania High School Football Huddle
Bernard takes over for Fred Ross, who was told before last season that he wouldn't be rehired for a 43rd year as head coach of the Mounties. Bernard has spent the last two years as the strength and conditioning coach at the University of Pittsburgh.
Bernard's last high school head coaching job was at Nazareth when he led the Blue Eagles to a 37-28-1 record in six seasons before moving on to become the head coach at Fairfield University in 2001.
