Hazleton Names Jim Drumheller as New Head Football Coach

After serving under four different coaches as an assistant, Jim Drumheller will get his chance to run Hazleton High's football program.

Drumheller, who graduated from Hazleton in 1979, takes over for Paul Marranca, who resigned due to health problems after one season on the job.  Hazleton was 3-7 last season, which was its first non-winning season since 1999.

Paul Marranca, who in 29 years led Wyoming Area to 231 wins, is the new head coach at Hazleton.

The Standard Speaker reports that Marranca will try to build on the success of Rocco Petrone, who stepped down to become Hazleton's principal. The Cougars finished 8-4 last season.
