Hopewell High School is the alma mater of Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett. Friday night, super sophomore running back Rushel Shell had Hopewell fans thinking about the man the high school stadium is named after.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Shell and Hopewell took another step to its first undefeated regular season with a 34-26 win over West Allegheny. Shell had a career best 349 yards rushing...his 13th straight. 18-games into his high school career, Shell has now gained 3,008 yards.

Hopewell High School is the alma mater of Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett. Friday night, super sophomore running back Rushel Shell had Hopewell fans thinking about the man the high school stadium is named after.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Shell and Hopewell took another step to its first undefeated regular season with a 34-26 win over West Allegheny. Shell had a career best 349 yards rushing...his 13th straight. 18-games into his high school career, Shell has now gained 3,008 yards.

Week 7 in Pennsylvania and we'll get a good look at how good Gateway is. The Gators have picked-up plenty of national rankings pub over the last several years, but somewhere along-the-line, they seem to get tripped-up and never fulfill their potential.
Friday night, Gateway (6-0) will play only their second team with a winning record this year when the Gators take-on Erie McDowell (5-1). According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, which has the Gators ranked #3 in the state in AAAA, this will probably be Gateway's only test until it plays McKeesport in Week 10.
Erie McDowell lost to McKeesport early this year on the road 16-14.
Heading east, the Philadelphia Inquirer has a great look at the playoff picture over the final four week.

As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of Saturday afternoon high school football. My alma mater, Wilson still plays all of its home games in the sunlight, and tomorrow, our High School Football America cameras travel to Pen Argyl for its afternoon game against Northern Lehigh.
In searching the PA papers this week, I came across a story about a western Pennsylvania team that not only plays on Saturdays, but uses a nearby wooded area for it's pre-game lockerroom.
The school is Summit Academy, which is a a reform school for adjudicated youth, is located in Butler County. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette story, watching the Knights play on Saturdays, is a one-of-a-kind experience.
